Irwin was founded in 1846 by Samuel Dale Irwin and his horse
(later named "Dwilligut"). A commemorative plaque under
the water tower is reproduced here for educational purposes. Irwin's
proud tradition includes cattle and the railroad. Today,
Irwin is a bustling community of commerce, industry, and opportunity. Most
of all, it's "a nice place to live."
